We really are an umbrella organisation.

The Franziskustreff provides shelter for many people. Homeless and poor people are helped to help themselves: with food and charity. With warmth and dignity. With social counselling and visibility. From motivated fellow human beings: through financial and practical commitment. Without a one-way street and a gradient. Because this is where hosts and guests meet in humanity!
At the Franziskustreff, poor and homeless people fortify themselves with a hearty breakfast. We serve it to them on site. Every working day and on all Christian holidays. In the heart of Frankfurt, next to the Church of Our Lady. This is where the Capuchin Brother Wendelin (died 2020) founded the purely donation-based aid initiative more than thirty years ago. He transformed the former breakfast counter at the monastery gate into a place where his "friends from the street" could meet and eat.
We are a team of a few employees and many volunteers. We cater for up to 180 guests a day on every weekday and Christian holiday. A social counsellor supports our guests at their request with questions or problems in everyday life or with the authorities.
Everything is done without any public or church funding. Only through the voluntary commitment of volunteers and donations from benefactors. The German Capuchin Province established a foundation under civil law for this purpose in 2013. The Franziskustreff Foundation has been preserving Brother Wendelin's legacy ever since.
It carries the roof. Under it, homeless and poor people connect with those who want to help them with their time here. Or support this roof with their donation.
