Our mission: to fulfil the foundation's purpose - clearly and directly.

We are only profit-orientated in one respect: Humanity should win through our work. We work to overcome homelessness and poverty - together with the people affected. We are committed to this. Straightforward, open and direct.

The foundation pursues exclusively and directly non-profit and charitable purposes within the meaning of the section "Tax-privileged purposes" of the German Tax Code. The foundation is selflessly active; it does not primarily pursue its own economic purposes.

The purpose of the foundation is

  1. the promotion of welfare (Section 52 (2) sentence 1 no. 9 AO) and charitable care (Section 66 AO), i.e. the planned care of needy or endangered fellow human beings for the benefit of the general public and not for profit. The care may extend to health, moral, educational or economic welfare and be aimed at prevention or relief;
  2. the support of persons who are dependent on the help of others due to their physical, mental or emotional condition (§ 53 No. 1 AO) or who are financially needy within the meaning of § 53 No. 2 of the German Fiscal Code;
  3. the procurement of funds in accordance with § 58 No. 1 AO for the realisation of the tax-privileged purposes of another corporation or for the realisation of tax-privileged purposes by a legal entity under public law.

The foundation's purpose is realised in particular through

a. the operation of the Franziskustreff, an institution founded by Brother Wendelin Gerigk in the German Province of the Capuchin Friars Minor, a corporation under public law. In the tradition of the Franciscan order of the Capuchin Friars Minor, the Franziskustreff offers numerous homeless and poor people in the city centre of Frankfurt am Main a rich breakfast in a hospitable atmosphere. The quality of this service is ensured by specialised housekeeping staff, who are supervised by temporary staff and numerous volunteers. The Franziskustreff is open every working day and also on church holidays, such as Christmas, Easter, New Year and Whitsun, in order to relieve other facilities in Frankfurt am Main. At the Franziskustreff, poor and homeless people also receive professional social counselling and cultural support. In addition, suitable measures are taken to enable these people to take steps out of poverty and lead an independent life in dignity. The Franziskustreff works in a network of social organisations that support poor and homeless people in the Frankfurt am Main region, e.g. Caritasverband and Diakonisches Werk. It brings the concerns that arise from encounters with poor and homeless guests on site into the social dialogue through intensive public relations work;

b. the operation of facilities with a focus on serving food to the homeless and poor, modelled on the Franziskustreff;

c. the support of poor and homeless people through financial donations. The Foundation's funds shall initially be used for the measures specified in § 2 para. 4 lit. a and only then, if sufficient funds remain, shall they be used for the measures pursuant to § 2 para. 4 lit. b and lit. c. The Executive Board of the Foundation shall decide on the allocation of Foundation funds. There is no legal entitlement to the allocation of foundation funds.
