Surviving in the "woman zone"

The female side of homelessness.

Being homeless is a dimension that destroys many securities and certainties in life. And it is even more dangerous when the homeless person is a woman. Over the years, the Franziskustreff has repeatedly encountered fates that only women have to experience as homeless people. More compassion, more sensitivity and fewer misunderstandings. And more active support for women who are homeless. We at Franziskustreff are also committed to this. Among other things, with the picture tour that awaits you now. It takes you to places where women spend their lives without a roof of their own. Where bad things have happened to them. And where they struggle to survive. Their names are anonymised. So that you can learn about them.

Homeless women tell social worker Svetlana Strojan what this really means in the counselling session.

These are their stories

Unruhebank: Resting with reservations
Fear: stay awake
As a rule: particularly difficult
The dark side of light
Deposit belongs next to it
Stairway blurred black and white
Step by step: Seek protection.
Path in the park blurred black and white
Survive: Until the emergency doctor arrives.
