Meeting café: ReBeCa!

Spending nice afternoons: Homeless people like that too. It's possible with us.

An afternoon in a cheerful atmosphere. That means happiness and human warmth: especially for people living on the street. We regularly invite people to our meeting café ReBeCa. The name stands for: Talking, meeting and café.

Wednesdays are meeting time. We invite the guests of the Franziskustreff once again at 2.00 p.m. to the ReBeCa meeting café, where themed afternoons are held with coffee and snacks. The guests themselves suggest what they would like to discuss. It could be a tea seminar. Or a cosy get-together to play board games or do handicrafts. Once a month, a hairdresser comes and volunteers to cut the guests' hair as they wish.

But the activities don't just take place in the breakfast room. ReBeCa also means travelling to great destinations. These have already included the works of art on Frankfurt's city wall and a visit to the Historical Museum. Technology fans were thrilled by the visit to Boing, including exciting minutes in the flight simulator. From the Maintower, the guests saw their city from the very top. And for an afternoon, they were in the heart of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, where business is an adventure.

And then the guests also receive guests themselves. Sometimes even prominent people from the worlds of culture and business, with extraordinary lives. The guests at the Franziskustreff don't just take exciting stories with them. There are often surprising moments in which everyone learns from each other and their respective life experiences. ReBeCa also offers Frankfurt companies the opportunity to get involved in helping homeless and poor people. Our colleague Rubén Zárate will be happy to advise you on how to organise an interesting and varied afternoon with us for the guests of the Franziskustreff.

In any case, ReBeCa is one thing for our homeless and poor guests: a fun change from everyday life. Beautiful and inspiring hours. They give them confidence and new self-confidence: to cut themselves a slice of the cake called joie de vivre.

„A life plan that lasts for thirty years: that's not possible. But what is possible is to have an idea of what motivates you.“
Michael Groß (r.) during his presentation at ReBeCa
